Empowering families through tools of self-reliance

At Alfaran Educational & Welfare Society (AEWS), we believe that real change begins when people are given the means to help themselves. Through our Livelihood Support & Distribution Program, we aim to uplift underprivileged individuals — especially widows, unemployed youth, and low-income families — by providing practical tools to start small businesses or home-based work.

🧵 Sewing Machine Distribution

We regularly distribute sewing machines to poor and widowed women, enabling them to earn from home by starting or expanding tailoring work. This initiative not only promotes financial independence but also allows women to support their families while managing household responsibilities.

🚲 Handcarts (Trallies) and E-Rickshaws

To help men from low-income backgrounds become self-employed, we provide handcarts (trallies) for street vending and e-rickshaws for transportation work. These tools open new income opportunities for families who were previously jobless or dependent on daily wage labor.

🪵 Wooden Shops (Gumtis)

We also distribute wooden shop structures (gumtis) to small vendors who lack a permanent or safe place to do business. A simple shop helps them operate with dignity, improves their visibility, and provides stability to their income.

Sewing Machine we believe in fostering empowerment through education and practical skills. Our latest initiative focuses on providing sewing machines to women in our community. This program aims to empower women by equipping them with the tools and skills needed to generate income and support their families.
